xDSL
An umbrella term to describe the various speed flavors of telco digital subscriber line service, where the “x” essentially means “pick a prefix:” “A” (asymmetrical), “H’ (High bit rate), “I” (ISDN), “S” (single pair) or “V” (Very high bit rate) as prefixes. The different flavors connote different speeds, or different techniques used to balance speed against loop lengths.
